lyrics

Though the damage is done, I can't help but to feel like some water could help soothe the wound...relief's so overdue
Count the seconds away, but burns are like goodbyes in the way they feel worse with time...the clock will make you reel

Oh, my love, take off your disguise; This ain't Halloween, no, this ain't Halloween
Oh, my dear, you scared me half to death; This ain't Halloween

Or maybe it is. Maybe I lost track of time, maybe October's nearing an end
I can hear bones rattling at my closet door
Maybe I'm wrong. Hell, you're dressed up after all, and I'm feeling haunted
All the signs are pointing toward it being Halloween...

Try your best to forget. Cover up in ink, conceal another scar; Oh, you can't run from this...your thoughts know who you are

Oh, my love, take off your disguise; This ain't Halloween, no, this ain't Halloween
Oh, my dear, give the mask a rest; This ain't Halloween (Halloween)

Or maybe it is. Maybe I lost track of time, maybe October's nearing an end
I can hear bones rattling at my closet door
Maybe I'm wrong. Hell, your're dressed up after all, and I'm feeling haunted
All the signs are pointing toward it being Halloween...

And in the dead of the night I heard someone cry, so I packed up my fears and set out to find 'em
Sweat was my tell as it pooled at my feet, I was brave in the face...but shaking in my knees
But I couldn't let her suffer, the spooks and the frights this night had to offer
Bones underground and limbs of the trees came alive and danced in the sway of the breeze
So I made my way through the tombs and the graves, dodging shadows that moved as my eyes turned away
And an ominous light cast down from the moon, as it hung to illuminate goblins and ghouls
And the eeriest howl rang out through the air, from the wind or a wolf, one of which to beware
I kicked up my heels and I picked up the pace, to survive this night in one piece

And that's when I saw her, dressed like a queen, from the tip of her crown to the soles of her feet
I was marveled in beauty of her majesty, unbeknownst of the fate waiting for me
My blood ran cold as she showed me her grin, such a devilish smile sent chills through my skin
And down through my bones, now frozen in place; Oh, this night of pretending was such a mistake...

White as a ghost and quiet as the night, I couldn't even scream as she started to bite
Just fragments of sounds, made puzzles of words, something about how tonight I regret being born
And to struggle was useless, to fight was a waste, I was caught in the web and a spider's embrace
Oh, I could'a stayed in, and I should'a stayed home, and avoided this curse; If only I'd known
Now with every drop of blood that she stole, my vision went white and my hands got cold
And my memory fades as she whispered to me, she said
"Baby, this trick has been my treat,
On this night called All Hallows' Eve"

"But baby, I was born to make believe
'Cause baby, I was born on Halloween."
